As a mother and grandmother, I have experienced and attended births for 31 years. The birth of a new little baby is one of the greatest of life experiences. It is always amazing to me how something as old as time can be brand new with each new life. It is a joy to me to watch the beginning of a mother as well.
Each of my births, from being a new first time mom, to a mother and grandmother at the same time, has given me a different and expanded perspective. Each birth story is unique. I have had two C sections, one natural hospital birth, a baby in the car, and a baby with a midwifery student in beautiful Victoria BC, besides many births with amazing midwives in birth centers.
I moved with my wonderful husband and our family to North Idaho in 2002. We have 14 beautiful children and nearly twice that many grandchildren. They are the joy of my life.
I am enrolled in the National College of Midwifery and began apprenticing and assisting Sherry in 2011. I assist several midwives in the Idaho, Montana area. Most recently I was able to work with The Spokane Midwives to complete my clinical numbers for school and plan to take my NARM exam sometime this summer. It has been so rewarding to work with each mother through this special time in their life. I want to thank each one of you and Sherry for this grand opportunity.
