How does your body process sugar? Does it tend to pack extra sugar roaming around in
your system onto your baby? In preparation for your 28 week glucose test at your next prenatal visit, you will be asked to eat special food, so that your blood sugar level can be tested.
By doing a finger stick and obtaining a small sample of blood, we will be able to tell you
what your blood sugar level is 1 hour after you eat high sugar foods. If the level is not normal we will offer nutritional advice and help you consider further testing with a professional lab annotated test, and repeat testing as needed.
